Denis Demchev PhD thesis defended

We sincerely congratulate our colleague, research fellow of the Group of Applied Meteorological and Oceanographic Research Denis Demchev on the successful defense of his PhD dissertation at St. Petersburg State University on the topic “Monitoring of ice drift in the Arctic based on satellite radar images”. The defense took place on June 17, 2019 at St. Petersburg State University. The Academic Council for Dissertation Defense consisted of D.Sc. (Geogr.) Zakharchuk E.A. (Chairman, St. Petersburg State University / St. Petersburg State Institute of Oceanology), D.Sc. (Geogr.) Belonenko T.V. (St. Petersburg State University), D.Sc. (Phys. and Mathematics) Timokhov L.A. (AARI), Prof. Matti Leppäranta (University of Helsinki) who made a unanimous decision to award Denis Demchev the desired academic degree.
