We sincerely congratulate our colleague Julia Smirnova and her supervisors – Dr. Vladimir N. Kudryavtsev (Russian State Hydrometeorological University) and Dr. Leonid P. Bobylev (NIERSC) on the successful defense of her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Geographical Sciences on the topic “Spatio-temporal variability and main parameters of polar lows over the Nordic Seas”. The defense took place at a meeting of the Academic Council of the Russian State Hydrometeorological University on February 18, 2016.
