
Between June 29 and July 5, 2014, a Summer School for young scientists “Land Hydrology and Cryosphere of the Arctic and Northern Eurasia in the changing climate” was successfully held within the framework of the EuRuCAS project (“European-Russian Centre for cooperation in the Arctic and Sub-Arctic environmental and climate research”. This Project project has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 295068.The School’s venue was the Repino Cronwell Park Hotel in a resort area in the vicinity of St. Petersburg.
The Summer School attendees, more than 27 persons in number, are young scientists, PhD students and undergraduate students from a variety of countries. The scientific lectures were delivered by 18 experts renowned in the area of remote sensing and climate change. The scientific programme encompassed 21 lectures as well as 26 presentations made by the young scientists. The poster session collected 17 student posters. Four thematic groups were set up at the school and the school young attendees prepared summarizing presentations on the topics suggested for them. All participants of the summer school received special certificates.
