
Since 2005, the Nansen Centre is housed in a new office (named “Nansen House”) located at the Business Centre “Preobrazhensky”. The Center is placed in Vasilievsky Island – the area of St. Petersburg nascency. These premises were acquired for the Nansen Centre by the following Norwegian Bodies:
- Nansen-Centre in Bergen;
- Bergen University Foundation (UNIFOB AS, Bergen);
- University of Bergen
- Research Council of Norway
as well as by Mr. Sigvald Bergesen d.y. and his wife, Nankis Foundation, Oslo.
The new office of the Nansen Centre was stately opened on 9 December in the presence of journalists and guests of honor. The same day, a bust of Nansen sculptured by the Honored Artist of Russia Yevgeny Rotanov was unveiled by the Consul General of Norway in St. Petersburg, Mr. Otto Mamelund.
