From March 25 to 27, 2026, the International Forum “Polar Bear Universe” was held in St. Petersburg.

Nansen Center staff members N.Yu. Zakhvatkina and I.L. Bashmanichkov participated in the forum. As part of the session “Environmental and Technosphere Safety in the Arctic – Monitoring and Forecasting Natural and Man-Made Hazards,” N.Yu. Zakhvatkina presented a report on the Nansen Center’s developments, “Sea ice monitoring in the Russian Arctic seas“.
